While in North Carolina we went to a varsity football game at Drew's new school.

His football team was announced at half time.

He seems excited about his new school and especially his football team.

Last weekend when we were out of town we had a rare moment of only having Drew and Cooper with us.  That rarely happens.  Brodey had stayed in Sunbury with a friend and Peyton was having a sleepover with Grandma and Grandpa. 

It was fun to watch them interact with each other.

Just the two of them.

And as it always does with boys, interaction almost always leads to a good wrestling match!

Of course Drew even notices the camera while wrestling and tells me to STOP!

This is a silly picture.  And blurry too.  But for some reason I like it.  Probably because I rarely ever get a picture with all four of them in it.  I'm not sure why they like to act like they are asleep when I take pictures.  As you can see, Peyton isn't very good at that game.

I guess that was one perk of the power being out for two days.

Happy Birthday!

Today is my mom's birthday! 

Happy Birthday Mom!

My sister and her family, along with my family all piled into mom's house yesterday to celebrate.  Of course mom cooked her own birthday dinner.  She made lasagna, which was delicious by the way, and also made all the kids Valentine's treats!

I need to do a better job of getting at least one picture of every one at a party.  I managed to capture the majority of the party guests this time.  Missing are my sister, brother-in-law, step dad and myself of course!

Hey Drew!

This is the normal sequence of events when I have a camera to my face and I say "Hey Drew!"

Step 1.  "Huh" as he looks at me.

Step 2.  Dodge and yell "Stop it Mom!"

Step 3.  Hide from the camera and saying "Go away Mom."

PS  I'm not quite sure why he is reading the sports page on his hands and knees. 

He's weird!  : ) 

But I love him anyway.

Drew & Brodey playing Battleship while we watched Toy Story 3.  I was thinking I was being very nonchalant about taking this picture.  But obviously Brodey caught me.  In case you didn't know, that look means "Really Mom.  You're taking a picture of this too."

PS  Yes Brodey's wardrobe is a little conflict of interest.  He has a Bengals shirt on and a Colts sleeping cap.  Bengals are his first love.  But he also loves Peyton and the Colts!  Peyton Manning that is.  Although, I think he is pretty fond of Peyton Mitchell too.

Itsy Bitsy Spider ~ Part II

Tonight she sweet talked Drew into Itsy Bitsy Spider since Daddy isn't here.

Itsy Bitsy Spider went up the water spout,

Down came the rain

and washed the spider out!

Up came the sun

and dried up all the rain,

and the Itsy Bitsy Spider went up the spout again!

And then she promptly starts saying "Again! Again!"

She reminds me of the Telletubbies when they would shout that.

PS  Yes she has on the same outfit two days in a row.  She refused to take it off and I refused to fight with her about it!  I choose my battles.  These days, I don't choose too many of them.

Family Pizza & Movie Night!

All the kids piled on top of each other watching our feature movie of the evening. 

3 of the 4 watching at least...

One of them, I won't mention any names, was just running around being ornery all evening!

One of them was taking cover behind big brother for the parts of the movie that made him a little nervous.  And one of them was giving me the stink eye!

This one was on the edge of his seat by the end of the movie.  In the meantime, he was trying to dodge my camera by covering his head with his blanket.  But his mama is smarter than the average bear, and she has a setting on her camera called continuous shooting that tricked him in to thinking I had already taken a picture.  He uncovered his head, only to discover that I was shooting continuously until I got the shot that I wanted! 

nanadabooboo!  said with tongue sticking out!

Again, not going to mention any names about the ornery!  :o)

Our feature movie, one of my childhood favs...

Gremlins!

Now you know why Coop was hiding behind Drew and Bro was on the edge of his seat!  They were both like that until the last Gremlin, I think his name is Stripe (the guy with the mohawk), was dead.  Drew was cracking up laughing all evening at cute little Gizmo.  Especially when he was driving around in the little pink Barbie car!

And that my friends, was a fun evening of family time! 

I wish there were more movies like this that all of us could enjoy together.

1-26-11

Drew and I were both home sick today.  Me with stomach flu and he not with the stomach flu obviously.  He came in and asked me if I wanted eggs, bacon and toast.  He was making breakfast and was going to make me some too.  I thanked him, but passed on the offer.  I went out to make sure he was cleaning up his mess after cooking and discovered this.  A plate full of steaming hot bacon and eggs.

He of course is dodging my camera.  But I did manage to get him in the photo.  Not the ideal shot, but a shot none the less.

He continued to dodge my camera when I was trying to get a good picture of him.  I told him to get his butt in the picture.  This is what he did.  He will kill me if he knows I posted this online, so don't tell him.

One last try at a good picture.  Mission not accomplished.

Then I went back to bed.
